What is Facelift?

A facelift, also known as rhytidectomy, is a surgical procedure designed to rejuvenate the appearance of the face and neck. It is commonly performed to address the visible signs of aging, such as sagging skin, wrinkles, and facial volume loss. As we age, the skin's elasticity decreases, and the underlying tissues and muscles of the face begin to weaken. This can lead to the formation of wrinkles, jowls, and a loss of definition along the jawline. A facelift aims to reverse these effects by tightening the underlying facial muscles and removing excess skin. The procedure can target specific areas, such as the cheeks, jowls, and neck, or provide comprehensive rejuvenation for the entire face.

Facelift is aimed at

  • Rejuvenating the appearance of the face and neck
  • Providing a more youthful and rejuvenated facial contour
  • Enhancing facial aesthetics and harmony
  • Boosting self-confidence
  • Achieving long-lasting results
  • Customizable to individual needs and goals

Who is a good candidate for Facelift?

A good candidate for a facelift is typically an individual who shows visible signs of facial aging, such as sagging skin, deep wrinkles, and loss of facial volume. They may have concerns about the appearance of jowls, a double chin, or a lack of definition along the jawline. It is important for candidates to be in good overall health and have realistic expectations about the outcomes of the procedure.

What should you expect during the consultation?

You will meet our team members, and your surgeon will personally evaluate your condition and will ask about your health history. You will have an opportunity to discuss treatment options and the recommended course of treatment, explore outcomes of procedures and the potential risks and complications associated and get your questions answered.

What should you expect during the treatment?

The anaesthesia team assesses your medical fitness before surgery. They can prescribe some diagnostic testing and medications. Once the medical fitness is declared, instructions for the day of surgery are given. On discharge, postoperative care and follow-up instructions are explained.

What should you expect during the recovery?

There can be some discomfort, swelling and pain after surgery. Post-surgery medications are prescribed for faster recovery. Our team will advise you on the care of the surgical site and feeding or activity restrictions that may be necessary to promote normal healing. Also, you can discuss specific general health issues to be monitored during recovery with your doctor. Periodic follow-ups are advised to monitor the patient’s health status.

How much does a Facelift cost?

Treatment cost varies based on the type of procedure planned and many other factors like other medical conditions, choice of operative facility, room choice etc. We also offer short-stay surgeries (like same-day surgeries) to save costs. While cost is an important consideration from your perspective, it should not override clinical considerations, and that’s why a balanced approach is advisable.

Will my insurance plan cover it?

Reconstructive surgeries are generally covered by health insurance, but in case of congenital & cosmetic problems, some insurance may not cover them. Be sure to consult with your insurance company in advance of any surgery.
