1. Fellowship in Aesthetic Medicine and Surgery

The purpose of the fellowship is to help the Fellow develop an understanding of surgical and medical practices with training emphasizing all aspects of aesthetic surgery and medicine.

The Fellow should expect a complete experience of aesthetic clinical practice, including comprehensive management of aesthetic patients, pre-operative diagnosis and assessment, treatment planning of procedures, and assisting as well as individually performing treatments.

The 1-year program contains different modules, each of which includes a complete theoretical and practical coverage of all aspects entailing preventive and corrective aesthetic medicine, including - basic principles of aesthetic medicine and surgery, use of nutraceuticals/cosmeceuticals, chemical peels, botox, dermal fillers, lasers, PRP therapies, mesotherapy, hair loss management, and hair transplant as well as surgical corrections including- blepharoplasties, scar revision, facelift, aesthetic rhinoplasty and genioplasties, liposuction, fat grafting, and body contouring techniques.

Upon completion of the program, the Fellow is expected to have developed a complete comprehensive knowledge of all treatment methods, with clinical expertise in the diagnosis and management of aesthetic patients, and be able to render contemporary, compassionate, and responsible care in all aspects of aesthetic medicine and surgery.

Duration and Eligibility Criteria

The duration of the fellowship is 12 months in Max Super Specialty Hospital, and the candidate admitted to the training program shall pursue a regular course of training (on a whole-time basis) in the concerned recognized institution under the guidance of a recognized postgraduate teacher for the assigned period of the course.

The Eligibility Criteria is any postgraduate holding Maxillofacial surgery, Plastic Surgery, or Dermatology qualification.

2. Fellowship in Hand surgery & Microsurgery

The goal of the Hand Surgery and Microsurgery Fellowship of the Departments of Plastic Surgery and its affiliates is to prepare physicians for a career in Hand surgery, either as clinical surgeons or academic surgeons. The program aims to recruit outstanding men and women who desire to become leaders in their community or academic program.

It is our goal for the resident/fellow to be competent in the knowledge of the practice of Hand surgery, to carry out this practice professionally and ethically, to develop skills for continuing and self-reflective education in the field of hand surgery, and to understand hand surgery in the context of the healthcare system in which they will practice.

Hand and Upper Extremity Fellowship aims to optimally prepare surgeons-in-training to render contemporary, compassionate, and responsible care for all pathologies afflicting the hand and wrist while inspiring the fellow to give back to the specialty through engagement in scientific inquiry and practice as a life-long learner and teacher.

Training emphasizes traumatic and acquired conditions of the hand, wrist, forearm, elbow, arm, and shoulder, including peripheral nerve disorders, microsurgical training in collaboration with Plastic Surgery, brachial plexus, lymphedema, fractures, fingertip, replants, crush, joint replacement of the hand, wrist and congenital hand surgery. Hence, the program provides a mix of basic hand surgery and complex hand surgery conditions.

The duration of the fellowship is 12 months in Max Super Specialty Hospital, Patparganj, New Delhi, and the candidate admitted to the training program shall pursue a regular course of study (on a whole-time basis) in the concerned recognized institution under the guidance of recognized post graduate teacher for an assigned period of the course. The Eligibility Criteria is any medical graduate with DNB/MCh Plastic Surgery or DNB/MS Orthopedics.

3. Fellowship in Reconstructive Microsurgery

The Reconstructive Microsurgery fellowship targets Head & Neck, Breast/Lymphedema, & Extremity/Other. A comprehensive mentorship includes preoperative evaluation, treatment planning, operative treatment, and postoperative management of patients with surgical indications treatable by conventional and microsurgical techniques. Fellows will develop their core microsurgical skill sets throughout the year and will be able to independently perform complex microsurgical reconstructions upon completion of the fellowship. The training model incorporates many components of effective training and professional development that are often missed. They include the following:

  1. Effective recognition of the pre-existing skills and qualities
  2. supervised and managed responsibility
  3. Exposure to the practice and processes in a corporate setting
  4. Personal supervision, feedback, and planning
  5. Skills development, judgment, and decision making
  6. Attention to patient interaction skills
  7. Development of an Attitude of ‘practice’
  8. establish effective working relationships
  9. Apprenticeship

Fellows actively participate in total patient management, from preoperative assessment, operative planning, hands-on involvement, and postoperative care, including complications and less-than-assured outcomes, which adds invaluable learning. The training emphasizes a step-wise progression, from achieving competency in safe, efficient anastomosis to mastering complex reconstruction principles and providing a foundational platform for future innovations.
